First-Ever Public Ticket Sale for Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game Opens

A limited number of tickets has now been made available for LSU vs. North Carolina in the Georgia Dome.

ATLANTA (July 21, 2010) – For the first time in three seasons, a public ticket sale will be offered for the season-opening Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.

The 2010 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game features traditional SEC powerhouse No. 21 LSU against top ACC contender No. 19 North Carolina on Sept. 4 in the Georgia Dome.

Limited groupings of tickets have been returned by the Georgia Dome and the two universities and are now being offered to the public. In the past, university ticket buyers have purchased all available tickets, prohibiting a public ticket sale in Atlanta.

Fans interested in purchasing tickets can call the Chick-fil-A Bowl ticket office at 404-586-TIXX (8499) or log on to www.Chick-fil-AKickoffGame.com. Tickets are $60.

"After the first two games where we had hard sellouts with Alabama and Clemson and then Virginia Tech and Alabama last year, we don't expect these tickets to last long," said Gary Stokan, Chick-fil-A Bowl president and CEO. "But we do want to do everything we can to make sure that local fans know they can get tickets for the first time in this game's history."

Billed as the "Daytona 500 of College Football," the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game annually matches top-ranked teams on the first Saturday of the season in a BCS-style, neutral-site game.

In addition to the game, ticket holders will have the opportunity to take part in ancillary events over Labor Day weekend surrounding the game including the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game FanZone, the Kickoff Cook-Off tailgate experience and other events to be announced later this summer.

The third annual Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game will be played Saturday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. ET in the Georgia Dome. The game will be nationally televised on ABC.
